Biografia

Agata Kielar-Długosz is a Polish flutist, a graduate of soloist studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich (Germany) as well as postgraduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Weimar (Germany), and the Yale University in New Haven (U.S.A) She graduated with honors at the Music Academy in Cracow (Poland). With the Erasmus scholarship, she also perfected her skills at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig (Germany) and numerous flute master classes.

She is a prizewinner of Polish and international flute competitions including being a finalist at the 10th Friedrich Kuhlau International Flute Competition in Uelzen (Germany), the second prize winner at the 4th International Flute Competition Internazionale Premio in Padova (Italy), the second prize (I was not granted) and a special award winner at the 4th International Flute Competition Interpretazione Flautistica in Ovada (Italy). She was also a finalist and a special prize recipient at the 11th International Flute Competition in Timisoara (Romania) and the third prize winner at the 6th International Flute Competition Leonardo de Lorenzo in Viggiano (Italy).

She is an active soloist and chamber musician both in Poland and abroad. On many occasions, she was the first performer of concertos dedicated to her by Polish and foreign composers (Paweł Mykietyn, Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil, Piotr Moss, Jerzy Kornowicz, Paweł Łukaszewski) which were broadcast by leading radio stations. She has made numerous recordings for radio and record industry archives. She was the first flutist in the Bayerisches Symphonieorchester and also worked for the Münchener Kammerorchester in the Bach Collegium in Munich (Germany). She performed under such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Mariss Jansons, Sir Colin Davis, Jacek Kaspszyk, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Agnieszka Duczmal and Helmuth Rilling.

For many years, she was a scholar of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Live Music Now. She received many prizes and scholarships for her outstanding achievements, among others, the Fulbright Comission, DAAD, KAAD, All Flutes Plus, Jeunesses Musicales, Top Wind, and Stiftung für Musik Zürich. She was awarded the Prize of the Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship for outstanding achievements in the field of artistic creativity as well as promotion and preservation of culture. She was the prizewinner of the Minister of Culture scholarship programme Młoda Polska (Young Poland).

She teaches numerous master programmes. She has held a doctorate in musical arts in artistic instrumental studies since 2013.
